Thank you!! I really need to read more and knit without background noise. This will stay in the back of my head ♥️

i love knitting as well :) that’s a wonderful goal! you may be surprised how easy it is eventually to not have background noise. i’ve been doing it with meal times.

Love a nuanced look at how technology and boredom can intersect — so interesting to read your own personal relationship to it as well! 👀

i’ve been deep in the trenches! my self-esteem was so low then too because of it

I guess something that strict parents can’t always account for - what preventative measures can breed? Or the wider backlash

I love this! Boredom is absolutely a luxury anymore. We're all so conditioned that every second should be filled with something and when it all becomes too much, we burnout, we crash. I agree with you, taking just a little bit of your time to lock your phone away, stare at the clouds, take a walk, read a physical book--anything other than being on your phone--can create an immense amount of good in your life!

How do your babies do with tech? i feel like they likely get a lot of outdoor time!

I do my very best! They have kids tablets with mainly learning apps that they get a small amount of time with but recently I’ve taken them away cold turkey because we all slumped into using them a bit too much after vacation. They have the yard, they have toys, and we watch a movie at night as a family. And they’re totally okay with it. Thankfully no meltdowns lol
